Abstract |
Developing distributed virtual environments is a complex time consuming task. In order to develop such environments the programmer has to be proficient in network, graphics, device handlers and user interface programming. Moreover, network based programs are inherently more difficult to program and debug than sequential ones. In order to simplify this task, we have developed VIPER (VIrtuality Programming EnviRonment) which enables the rapid and easy development of distributed virtual environments. This paper will first describe our distributed virtual environment model. Then we will describe the software architecture of a VIPER entity by presenting DeMonE (DEclarative Multimodal MOdelliNg Entity), its behavioural model and its features. |
